The Regreening Initiative

Restoring 100 million hectares by 2035

Our Purpose

is to:

Bring life back to our land

and

Deliver abundant returns for nature, community, landholders and investors.

To do this we:

Nurture country

Repair nature

Restore degraded land

Regenerate ecosystem function

Restoring natures abundance

with good management

we turn this...

into this.

Visit some projects in southwest Queensland with our co-founder Glenn Landsberg.

Our plan is to implement The Regreening Method across Australia and globally to restore health to our landscapes.  It's cost effective and impactful, with multiple benefits for nature, community, landholders and investors.

The Regreening Method

Our team developed The Regreening Method over decades of field work on hundreds of properties.
It's grounded in biology and works with powerful natural processes.

PLAN

Holistic context, permaculture, landscape architecture, mapping, digital twin.

Rehydrate.jpg

REHYDRATE

Slow, spread, sink and store water in the landscape.  Repair water cycles.

Revegetate.jpg

REVEGETATE

Give diverse plants time to grow tall with deep roots, and pump carbon into the ground.

Cycle.jpg

CYCLE

Manage animals to cycle nutrients and enhance biodiversity & ecosystem function.

TREE MANAGEMENT

MONITOR

Enable strategic regrowth of the right trees in the right places

Constantly monitor, measure and adapt.

The Re-Greening Method combines a wide range of cost-effective techniques to trigger natural systems and keep them thriving and improving.  Success stems from the combination.

Multiple Benefits

of The Regreening Initiative projects

Carbon Projects

Healthy ecosystems are carbon pumps, taking CO2 from the air and locking it into the soil where it does great things.  We run carbon projects with high integrity, driven by nature.

Biodiversity

Biodiversity is both a natural outcome of Regreening, and a key driver of the entire process.  We monitor biodiversity constantly and share data and learnings.

Land Degradation Reversed

Land degradation causes climate change and extreme weather.  It’s a major global issue.  “Restoring degraded land is the great work of our time”, John D Liu

Empowered Healthy Communities

Regreening projects provide meaningful and secure employment for local communities.  Money intended for repairing nature goes exactly where it’s needed for generations to come.

Regreened

A Safe Climate

Regreening land at scale naturally cools the Earth and calms weather patterns.  It has an instant positive impact on our climate.

Increased Productivity

Regreened land is more productive.
More water, more vegetation and more diversity all lead to increased productivity of high-quality agricultural produce.

Water

Water is life, and restoring water cycles is critical.
Regreening returns water to previously dry parched landscapes.

Beauty and Connection

We create opportunities for people to immerse into awe inspiring landscapes of unsurpassed beauty and scale.
To deeply connect with land and nature, for a day, a month or a lifetime, and reconnect with our human roots.
